A "New" Poem and Linkage Update

I realized today as I was looking though my recent work that I had not posted this poem that followed the two I most recently shared:

Sounds Fall Away

Voices in the hallway,
and a few doors rattle
and shut. Music fades
from across the courtyard,
one TV falls silent.
Footsteps overhead tap
the ceiling, floorboards
creak for a bit.
Sounds fall away
until only the soft whirr
of the fan harmonizes
with the faithful chirp
of the crickets.

The music blog Spoilt Victorian Child has abruptly ceased updating, so I removed the link. I will perhaps replace it with another soon.

I love poems like this. I like writing poems like this. Just snippets that evoke a sense memory or simple images.

For me it's like conjuring up an image, almost like watching a short video clip in your brain - that's what your poem did.

Two of this type of poem that I wrote that I feel are in a similar style are this one http://goddesschronicles.allzah.com/goddesschronicles/index.cfm/2006/10/18/30-Second-Poem

And this one

If you get a chance to read them I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Your poem has real structure - something I don't feel I'm good at. It gives me a good sense of which thought is complete and ends, without chopping them off - your ideas flow, but not confusingly so. Does that make sense?
