Another in the continuing series of insomnia poems.

With the Light Out

Always this tidal pull
away from sleep
toward a bristling
darkness I play out
my thoughts they drift
and tangle like
frayed nets in
disturbed murky water.

I haven't posted a link to Pitchfork since I figured everyone who could possibly be interested is already familiar with it, but they currently a running a tribute to YouTube (which you should also check out if you haven't already) called 100 Awesome Music Videos.
