Altering the Texture

Thanks as always to Naomi's keen eye, herewith a slightly revised version of my most recent poem:

The Texture of Water

The water crinkles
in the pool of a
fountain crumpling
and rippling out to
smoothness along the rim
as jets rise and arc and
fray, spilling back, spattering
and pocking the surface,
rippling the texture,
rise, fall, and spatter,
the rhythm of it, the almost
music of it.

Poetry & Baseball

A new poem for your consideration. Comments & suggestions welcome as always.

The Texture of Water

The water crinkles
in the pool of a
fountain crumpling
and rippling out to
smoothness along the rim
as jets rise and arc and
fray spilling back, spattering
and pocking the surface,
rippling the texture:
Rise and fall and spatter,
the rhythm of it, the almost
music of it.

In tribute to the World Series, the Poetry Foundation has an excellent essay on poetry and baseball. It's well worth your reading.

Remember Burma

Free Burma!

As my regular readers know, I tend to avoid political discussion. However, the ongoing horrors in Burma are impossible to ignore. Please take some action, even if only by following this link:
