Greetings From Texas

I'm not formally a music blogger, but I wanted to remind y'all to vote. I have my preference -- in fact, I voted absentee before I left DC. But this is a crucial election in a dangerous time. Make your voice heard! Follow this link and get the full (and graphic) message:

GTT*

*That's Gone toTexas. I'm heading down with the boys to see my folks in Dallas. Back Wednesday. Don't forget to vote.

Here's a new poem:

Unveiling

Full moon shines
through a tissue
of cloud that
falls away
and drifts like
smoke slowly
along a deep
blue-black
surface of sky.

New Link

The MP3 Blogs Aggregator referred to in an earlier post is (temporarily?) down. So I've added a link to an alternate that aggregates a variety of blog types including many featuring music. Give 'em a look & tell 'em Enchilada sent ya:

Chilly Day, Hot Links

Yet another cold wet fall day in DC. But warmth can be found. I heard from another great music blogger who wants to link to me, so I am returning the favor. And bigrockcandymountain is worth visiting in any case.

And it's still poem weather:

Walk Into Rain

A flock of starlings
scatters ragged
black shapes against
the washed-out gray
curtain of sky
into my face
the wind flings
droplets of rain
too cold for tears.

A Response

It's gray and chilly here in DC. Fortunately I have warm friendships. Thanks Carrie.

And the scent of leaves falling
Like rain
On the wings of the crickets
Tells of the growth that now
Lies in the dark of the night
In the silence
Before the sunrise...

Poem Weather II

Back to the workweek.

I revised the poem from the previous post -- same words, different configuration. Comments welcome.

This is for Naomi.

Poem Weather

The crickets still chirp
but muted. Moist
cool air carries
the faint sound
into my room.
Autumn again.

Poem Weather

We've had a long enough run of mellow weather here in DC to make me declare that Autumn has arrived. I usually write a lot in the fall, but so far it's been slow in coming. Perhaps because I had an unusually productive summer. I did start writing something new on the bus this morning so I thought I'd post it .

The crickets still
chirp but muted
moist cool air
carried the faint
sound into my room
autumn again.

Back To It

I still don't know exactly what to do with this blog, but I hate to let it lie fallow, so here's another entry.

I got into this blogging because I was visiting a number of MP3 blogs. Here is a frequently updated listing. Go here and start exploring, if you love music like I do.

MP3 Blogs Aggregator

Two others I like:

Last Sound of Summer (eclectic pop/rock)

Benn loco du taccu (great African music)

Stay tuned....
